Team Placement & Position Assignments
Team placement and cheerleading positions are assigned based on the coach's evaluation of each athlete's skills, effort, attendance, commitment, and overall team needs.
Factors considered include:
- Safety
- Skill level
- Practice attendance
- Teamwork
- Positive attitude
- Dedication to improvement
Our goal is to place every athlete in the position where they can be most successful while maintaining the highest level of safety for all participants.
Attendance Policy
Cheerleading is a team sport where every athlete plays an important role. Unlike many sports, there are no substitutes waiting on the bench. One absence can impact an entire stunt group, pyramid, or routine.
For this reason, regular attendance at practices, games, choreography sessions, and competitions is extremely important to the success of the team.
Unexcused Absences
After three unexcused absences, coaches reserve the right to remove an athlete from portions of the competition routine or move them from competition participation to game-day participation only.
Communication
Please notify your athlete's coach or team parent as soon as possible if they will miss any practice or games.
Open and timely communication allows coaches to plan practices effectively and helps the team continue progressing together.
Jewelry Policy
For athlete safety and compliance with competition rules, jewelry is not permitted at practices, games, competitions, or performances.
Athletes arriving with jewelry may be asked to remove it before participating. Coaches are not responsible for holding athletes jewelry.
Stay Connected
Important updates throughout the season will be communicated through email and the Wakefield Youth Cheer social media pages. Please be sure to check these regularly so you do not miss important information and deadlines.
We look forward to another exciting season and can't wait to see our athletes grow, learn, and succeed both on and off the mat.
Go Warriors!
